👋 Hi, I’m Lauren
I’m a founder and writer who is looking for my next opportunity in product or operations. My main expertise lies in 1) developing streamlined processes and systems and 2) running quantitative and qualitative experiments to improve growth, retention, and user happiness.
TL;DR:
✍️ I’m a young adult writer repped by Sabrina Taitz at WME.
🖊️ You can find me on Medium, where I write about startups, gender, and shame.
🐈 I love cats. And like cats, I’ve had a few different lives…
The Longer Version:
❤️ 2007-2011: I studied love (among other things) at Brown University.
👶 2009-2013: As a sophomore in college, I created SmartSitting, one of NYC’s top childcare agencies.
💑 2013-2015: I was the founder and CEO of Dating Ring (Y Combinator Winter 2014). My cofounder Emma and I had a wild ride creating the product, launching in 5 cities, and raising our seed round. We were featured in dozens of national press outlets including the NYTimes (x2), TechCrunch, Inc, Bloomberg, Cosmopolitan, Elle, Business Insider, Fox, Nightline, The Cut, and Time.
🎙️ 2015: My cofounder Emma and I had the good fortune of being featured throughout Season 2 of Gimlet’s podcast StartUp.
🧮 2016-2017: I took a ‘tech hiatus’ and helped 200+ students prepare for the ACT, SAT, GMAT, and LSAT (I really love tests??).
📓 2018-2020: I gave myself a self-directed MFA in young adult writing. I received offers from 8 agents for my YA novel. I also created The Write Cohort and became a mentor for Author Mentor Match.
💡 2020-2021: I was brought on board as a consultant and acting CEO for Tutorly. I created an MVP and hired the initial team.
✨ Now: I would love to join a team that is passionate, empathetic, and curious—working hard on a product that brings people joy.
